Frances R. Kuntz, 96, died Thursday, October 8, 2020 at St. Luke’s Home Dickinson. There will be a private Mass of Christian Burial for Frances at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. William Ruelle as celebrant.

Frances Berger was born August 14, 1924 in Hirschville, the daughter of Peter and Rose (Oster) Berger. She was raised and educated through the eighth grade in Hirschville.

She was united in marriage to Christ Kuntz on February 26, 1946 at St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Hirschville. They lived in Dickinson where they raised their seven children.

She was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Frances loved spending time in her garden. She loved cooking and baking. Her special recipes such as her most famous borscht soup and her peanut butter cups were among the favorites with her children and grandchildren. She loved going out for coffee with family and friends, but she also made time for herself by reading and listening to music.

Frances is survived by her children, Harry (Bonnie) Kuntz, Dickinson, Elaine Fischer, Hebron, Carol (Mark) Essler, Dickinson, Delores Kuntz, Dickinson, Rita Weiss, Dickinson, and Ron Kuntz, Mandan; seven grandchildren, John Fischer, Brenda Fischer, Brandon Kuntz, Chris (Brianna) Essler, Joshua (Jen) Essler, Michele Essler, and Holly (Brice) Boos.; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Christ, on May 6, 1980; and her son, Ken.
