Frances Roth, 97, Dickinson, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Frances’ Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Msgr. Patrick Schumacher as the celebrant, and assisted by Deacon Bob Zent. Interment will follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery, south of Richardton. Visitation will be on Monday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., with Deacon Bob Zent presiding.

Frances Greff was born March 2, 1917, in Hettinger County of North Dakota, the daughter of Jerome and Leokatia (Zent) Greff. She was raised on the family farm and attended country school in Hettinger County.

On March 9, 1943, Frances was united in marriage to Joseph Roth, Jr., at St. Placidus Catholic Church, north of Mott. To this union four children; Roger, JoAnn, Margie and Duane were born. The couple purchased the Roth farm where they raised their family and farmed for 37 years. Following retirement, Frances and Joseph made their home in Dickinson.

Frances was a devoted homemaker and she especially loved family gatherings with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, and a past member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. She resided at the Frontier Apartments until becoming a resident of St. Benedict’s Health Center in August of 2013.

Frances is survived by her son, Duane (Cleora) Roth, Dickinson; daughter, JoAnn (Martin) Decker, Dickinson; eight grandchildren, Scott (Shelly) Decker, Blaine (Denise) Decker, Mark (Valerie) Decker, Jon Roth, Andrea Roth, Jenna Roth, Nicole Roth, and Allan (Laura) Lantz; eight great-grandchildren, Jake Decker, Alaynea Decker, Bailey Decker, Jaydin Decker, Jenna Decker, Hayden Roth, Jeice Tibor, and Ethan Lantz; a son-in-law, Richard Lantz, Janesville, Wisc.; two sisters, Mary Senn, Dickinson, and Maggie Krance, South Heart; and one sister-in-law, Pauline Greff, Dickinson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph on September 7, 2011; her parents; infant son, Roger Roth; her daughter, Margie Lantz on January 17, 2012; three brothers, Mike (Veronica) Greff, Joseph Greff, and Simon (Hilaria) Greff; two sisters, Florence (Joe) Frank, and Margaret Senn; and brother-in-law, Tony Krance.
