Francis Adam Brossart, 47, Dickinson, ND was called to heaven on Friday, May 6, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Francis’ Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Todd Kreitinger as the celebrant. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m..

Francis was born in Rugby, to Frank and Julia (Jundt) Brossart. He was the youngest of 11 children and graduated from Rugby High School in 1982. Francis attended North Dakota State University and graduated from Moorhead Technical Institute in 1986. He married the love of his life, Denise Moe in Fargo in 1986. They moved to Grand Forks after their wedding where he worked for Reliance Telephone for several years. Their son Franc was born in 1990. In 1994 they moved to Dickinson. Their son Tristan was born in 1996. Francis was employed at Consolidated Telephone in Dickinson for the last 16 years.

Francis loved spending time with his family including dogs Blu and Myles. He loved the outdoors, spending time camping, hiking, and hunting with his family. Hunting wasn’t just about filling the tag to Francis, it was about enjoying the beauty of nature and spending time with his boys. His favorite vacation spot was the Black Hills of South Dakota where many fond family memories were made. The highlight of each summer was racing season and sitting in the stands cheering for his nephew. He had a great sense of humor and was always able to make people laugh with funny stories and jokes.

Francis will be greatly missed by everyone. Heaven received a beautiful angel.

Surviving family members include his wife Denise; sons Franc and Tristan; mother Julia Brossart, Grand Forks; siblings, Leonard Brossart, Central Alaska, Marge Wolf, Grand Forks,; Ron (Diane) Brossart, Newman Lake, Wash., Veronica (Steve) Moen, Arvilla, Sharon (Allen) Finnie, Payson, Ariz., Sheila (Mike) Lame’, Woodland, Calif., Viola (Bob) Keller, Bismarck, Marie (Dave) Braaten, Fergus Falls, Minn., Leonita (Wayne) Molesworth, Greenacres, Wash.; as well as many nieces and nephews. Francis was preceded in death by his father, Frank Brossart; brother Edward Brossart; father-in-law Marlin Moe; and brother-in-law Bob Wolf as well as his grandparents.
