Frank D. Koppinger, 85, Dickinson, died Monday, January 25, 2021 at CHI St. Alexius Dickinson. Frank’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, January 29, 2021 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Robert Shea as celebrant. Entombment will take place at the Dickinson Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Bob Zent presiding.

Frank D. Koppinger was born on September 2, 1935 in Regent, the son of John and Eva (Linster) Koppinger. He went to country school through the fourth grade, near Regent and continued the rest of his education in Lefor.

Frank was united in marriage to Margie Pfaff on October 16, 1956 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, south of Richardton and to this union three children were born, Carla, Bryan and Curt.

He had various jobs over the years beginning with putting up Butler Grain Bins and moved on to work at Heaton Lumber Co., Kirshmann Manufacturing, Parkway Ford (he started as a mechanic and eventually became part owner), Badinger Sand and Gravel, Fisher Sand & Gravel, and eventually Butler Machinery. Frank also owned and operated B & C Insulation.

Frank enjoyed playing the accordion, snowmobiling, bowling and camping. He was a member of Eagles, German Hungarian, and a lifetime member of the St. Anthony Club.

Frank is survived by his wife, Margie; children, Carla (Valentine “Val”) Fettig, Billings, Mont., Bryan (Peggy) Koppinger, Billings, and Curt (Joyce) Koppinger, Dickinson; grandchildren, Nichole (Bryon) Heiser, Brittany (Andy) Storjohann, and Courtney (special friend, Steve Kukowski) Koppinger; great-grandchildren, Spencer Glumac, Alex Fettig, and Ashton Storjohann; sisters, Darlene (Ray) Karsky, Dickinson and Leona (Eddie) Praus, Dickinson; sister-in-law, Geraldine “Jake” Koppinger, Parker, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Koppinger.
