Fumiko Sugimoto Krug, 94, Dickinson, died Friday, January 10, 2020 at St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. Funeral Services for Fumiko will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Ladbury Funeral Service with Pastor Lisa Lewton officiating. Interment will follow at the Dickinson Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Fumiko Sugimoto was born June 7, 1925 at Wakayama, Japan, the daughter of Giichi and Takee (Miyawaki) Sugimoto. She attended school in Wekayama for six years before going to work in the factory.
In the summer of 1953 she met Peter E. Krug whom was serving in the United States Army, and following a two year courtship, they were united in marriage on August 3, 1955 in Tokyo, Japan. In 1956 they moved to Chicago, Ill. Fumiko and Pete adopted their son Alfred from Pete’s sister Agnes Krug. They purchased a home in Dickinson in 1989 and Fumiko moved here until 1992 when Pete retired and sold the home in Chicago. They have made Dickinson their home since.
She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casinos. She was always a hard worker even around the house to stay busy. She was a loving and caring wife and mother.
Fumiko is survived by her husband, Pete; their son, Alfred (Yvette) Krug, Montgomery, Ill.; and grandson, Alec J. Krug. She was preceded in death by her five siblings.
