Garold “Jerry” A. Guenther, 82, Dickinson, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Sanford Medical Center, Bismarck, surrounded by his family. Jerry’s Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Rev. Michael Wolters officiating. Interment will take place at the Cleveland Cemetery, Cleveland. Military Honors will be provided by the Dickinson American Legion Post 3 Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, at Ladbury Funeral Service. Visitation will continue on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.

Jerry was born October 9, 1938 in Jamestown to George and Ruth (Giltner) Guenther. Jerry attended school in Jamestown. He served in the Army from 1955-1959.

On June 4, 1960, he married Mary Em Klassy in Jamestown. Jerry worked in the service industry running gas stations. He later worked at Husky Industries making charcoal briquettes. He would later sell insurance until his retirement.

Jerry enjoyed talking and selling cars. He loved playing cards, watching game shows, and gambling. He had become an avid Minnesota Twins fan. More than anything he loved his family, especially his wife. For the last four years Jerry and Mary have enjoyed providing childcare for their great-grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his wife Mary of 61 years; his only daughter, Cindy (Terry) Stickel, Dickinson; three grandchildren, Tyler (Elena) Stickel, Dickinson,  Brittany (Doug) Wagner, Vermillion, SD and Alexis (Dalton) O’Brien, Dickinson; six great-grandchildren, Troy Stickel, Harrison and Harper Wagner, Brexton, Jaxton, and Lennyx O’Brien; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Phyllis Robertson, Beverly Schuff and Joyce Jaskowski; and step-brother, Bill Haynes.
