Gary G. Kling, 63, Golden Valley, died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Gary’s funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, October 22, 2010 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Rev. Joel Sauerwein officiating. Interment will follow at Vang Lutheran Cemetery, Dunn Center. Visitation will be on Thursday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Friday from 8 a.m. to service time at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Gary Gene Kling was born July 27, 1947 in Dickinson, the son of Wallace and Ida (Iverson) Kling. He was raised and educated in the Halliday area. Gary had served in the United States Navy for a short period of time.

Gary returned to Dickinson following his honorable discharge from the Navy and lived with his mother until her death. As he got older his health declined and his last residence was that of Golden Valley.

Gary enjoyed attending auction sales, lengthy phone conversations, and he was known to be a good story teller (especially with his nieces and nephews).

Gary is survived by his five siblings, Harlin (Marie) Kling, Dickinson, Lorene (Lambert) Gerhart, Minot, Wilma Lavin, Chicago, Ill., Arlis Kling, Bismarck, and Roger Kling, Fargo; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Gayle Kling.
