Gene Keller, 64, Dickinson, died Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Dickinson. Gene’s Liturgy of Word Service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Fr. Keith Streifel presiding. Interment will take place on Monday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Military honors will be provided by the Dickinson Honors Team. Visitation will be on Friday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, with a vigil at 7 p.m., with Deacon Bob Stockert presiding. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Eugene A. Keller was born April 7, 1951 at Dickinson, the son of George and Katherine (Faulhaber) Keller. He was raised and educated in Dickinson, having attended Dickinson High School until his senior year, and later earning his GED in 2009.

Gene was united in marriage to Linda M. Frenzel on December 31, 1969, in Dickinson. He has made Dickinson his home his entire life except for the time spent in the military. Gene served honorably in the United States Army from September 26, 1969 to May 8, 1972.

He worked for Steffan & Son Mfg. until 1992, at which time he became employed with Fisher Industries (General Steel) in Dickinson, retiring from there in 2008.

He belonged to the St. Anthony Club and the Knights of Columbus. His interests include, karaoke, machinist work, woodworking, collecting Coca-Cola and Elvis memorabilia. He also enjoyed playing cards with family, watching Viking football, and recently heading the restoration project of the Air Force plane in Optimist Park.

Gene is survived by his wife, Linda; two children, Chad M. (Debbie) Keller, Surrey, and Codi J. Hansen, Dickinson; five grandchildren, Zachery (Britani) Keller, Pier Hansen, Jesse Nerem, Jordan Nerem, and MiKaylee Sandberg; a great-grandchild, Logan Keller; and two brothers, Alan (Darlene) Keller, Blackhawk, S.D., and Alvin (Lisa) Keller, Dickinson. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Gary and Ron Keller.
