Genevieve Lynch, 83, Dickinson died Thursday, April 24, 2008 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Genevieve’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Austin Vetter as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a rosary and vigil at 7 pm., on Tuesday at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Genevieve Skalsky was born September 20, 1924 at Blue Grass, ND, the daughter of Mike and Barbara (Zahn) Skalsky. She was raised and educated in the Glen Ullin area.

Genevieve married Clarence Lynch on October 26, 1942 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Beulah. She and her husband worked in the grocery business throughout their married life. In 1957 they opened Lynch’s Grocery in Dickinson and operated it until September of 1983 when Genevieve retired and closed the store. Clarence had died on April 11, 1980.

Genevieve enjoyed playing cards, scrabble and bingo. Her church and faith were very dear to her, having spent countless hour in prayer. Genevieve truly cherished the times spent with her grandchildren.

Genevieve is survived by six children, Eileen (Larry) Weigum, San Antonio, Texas, Donna (Tom) Kessel, Fargo, Dennis (Carol) Lynch, Dickinson, Allan (Nancy) Lynch, Dickinson, Mike (Julie) Lynch, Jamestown, and Todd Lynch, Dickinson; one sister, Marie Hipp, New Brighton, Minn.; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; daughter, Kathleen Markman; son, Neal; grandson, Ryan; three brothers; and three sisters.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Dickinson Catholic Schools or to St. Benedict’s Health Center.
