Georgianna (Georgie) Campbell June 27, 1935 - November 17, 2024

Date of Funeral

Saturday, November 23, 2024

Georgianna (Georgie) Magdalen (Hartman) Campbell, 89, formerly of Dickinson, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at CHI St. Alexius Health Bismarck. Surrounded by an abundance of love, the gates of heaven opened and welcomed her for eternal life.

She was born on June 27, 1935, to loving parents who raised her alongside her fierce grandparents who immigrated from Russia to the heartland of North Dakota. Throughout her childhood, family members helped mold her resilience and incredible sense of humor.

She attended a small country school north of Fayette, North Dakota which offered a picturesque landscape of rolling hills and farmland. During her younger years, she spent time looking after the little ones as well as helping with many of the farm chores.

At the age of 22, she met and married Kenneth Campbell of Dickinson, ND. They had three daughters who brought them tremendous joy throughout their lives.

She was an active member and volunteer of her community and belonged to several organizations. She worked in the hospitality industry and Berg Elementary School.

Her faith and Catholic upbringing were very important to her as she was a devoted member of the Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of America.

Her hobbies included singing, playing cards, going to the casino, bowling, sorting photographs and working endlessly on creating picture books for her daughters.

Georgie’s closest friends were Marie Wax, Dorothy Bookie, Peggy Kuntz, and her beloved friend Marge Burwick just to name a few. Georgie interests included attending meetings and activities, going to concerts and performances at the Band Shelter and Medora Musicals and enjoying the summers filled with camping and fishing at Patterson Lake.

She was always available for an adventure especially as a grandmother. She went on paper routes, pitch a tent and camp in the backyard and guide her grandchild as she was learning to ride a bike. She loved playing cards and was the queen of shuffling, playing solitaire for many hours or joining in a favorite game of “go fish.”

Later in life she would meet George, who became a close and endearing friend. They spent time together dancing and going out on the town.

Georgie forever remained a true ND girl. You could always find her listening to the country tunes of Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, and Charley Pride. She loved going to Branson during the holidays or seeing her favorite artists, Danny O’Donnell, and Molly B.

She leaves behind her daughters, Stella (Dan) Kienzle, Rose (Michael) Rosario and Marilyn (Mike) Blanchard. Eight grandchildren, Seth (Leah), Brina (Max), Lee, Lynn, Nicole (Nick), Jade, Mariyah, and Mikayla. Six great grandchildren, Jacob, Addison, Claire, Livi, Owen and Vincenzo (Enzo). She was preceded in death by her loving parents, husband, infant daughter, granddaughter, son-in-law and many endearing friends and loved ones.

Georgie’s precious life was a true testament to unconditional love, generosity, and the importance of family.

A heart-felt thank you goes out to CHI St. Alexius Health Bismarck along with the caring staff at several health care agencies especially Northland Pace who provided necessary supports so she could remain independent for many years.
