Gerald “Jerry” Sticka, 81, of Dickinson, died at Sanford Health, Bismarck on February 7, 2023. Gerald’s Liturgy of Word Service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Fr. Chris Kadrmas (Gerald’s nephew) presiding. Military Honors will be provided the Dickinson American Legion Post 3 Honor Guard. Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. 

Gerald Sticka was born in Dickinson to John and Margaret (Frank) Sticka on June 22, 1941 and was the eldest son in a family of eight children. He  attended St. Joseph’s Grade School, Dickinson Public High School and DSU. 

Jerry was united in marriage at St. Joseph’s Church with Carol Wolbaum on Nov.12, l963 and to this union two children, Dawn and Bryan, were born. Prior to his marriage Jerry served in the US Army from 1959-1963, including time on the Aleutian Islands. After his marriage he worked for Cloverdale and then for Dickinson City Parks and Recreation. He enjoyed the outdoors, walking daily and had a garden for many years. 

Gerald is survived by his daughter, Dawn Peterson; grandsons, Dan (Nicole) Peterson and Matt (Ciara) Peterson; and great-grandson Sutton. He is also survived by siblings, Bernadine Sticka, Rosemary (Vern) Kadrmas, Ron (Lori), Toby and James Sticka.

Gerald is preceded in death by his son, Bryan Sticka; his parents; and siblings Kathleen, Lawrence and Joanne (infancy).
