Gertrude “Gertie” Rodakowski, 92, formerly of Belfield, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Knife River Care Center, Beulah. Gertie’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, June 23, 2014 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Belfield, with Fr. William Ruelle presiding. Interment will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., with a rosary & vigil at 2 p.m., with Deacon Al Schwindt presiding at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Gertrude Rodakowski was born February 23, 1922 on the family farm near Belfield, the daughter of Anton and Polly (Evoniuk) Rodakowski. She was raised and educated in the Belfield area, graduating from Belfield High School.

She had lived at the Country House in Dickinson, prior to be coming a resident of the Knife River Care Center, Beulah. Gertie enjoyed going for walks, the great outdoors, arts and crafts, and visiting.

Gertie is survived by eight nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Agatha, Ida, Sophie, and Molly; and one nephew.
