Gladys M. Augedahl Andersen Reynolds, 91, Dickinson, ND died Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck, ND. Inurnment will take at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND, where Bill was buried in May 2006.
Gladys was born in Bull Butte Township in Williams County on July 13, 1915 to Olaus and Bergetta (Qualey) Augedahl. She attended country grade school and when it was time for high school moved into Williston and worked for her room and board while attending school. Gladys was confirmed in the Scandia Valley Lutheran Church.
She married Anders (Andy) Andersen and they were successful business owners in Williston during the 1940’s and 1950’s; owning a bakery, a bar, and The Club Missouri. Andy passed away in June of 1958. After Andy’s death, Gladys sold The Club Missouri and bought the Sunset Motel in Williston and operated that until her retirement.
On February 23, 1968, Gladys married Bill Reynolds in Reno, NV. They moved to California where they managed a mobile home park and motel in Woodlands. In 1991 Bill and Gladys returned to North Dakota and made their home in Dickinson. Poor health forced both Bill (in 2005) and then Gladys (in 2006) to become residents of St. Luke’s Nursing Home. Bill passed away May 2006 at the age of 88.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings. Those included: Oscar Augedahl, Art Augedahl, Benora Price, Alma Peterson, Lillian Fredericksen and Lucille Marks.
Mourning the loss of a wonderful aunt and appreciating the person she was are her four nephews and their families. Dick Fredericksen of Colstrip, MT; Dan Fredericksen of Bismarck, ND; Scott Fredericksen of Great Falls, VA; and, Gordon Fredericksen of Oroville, CA.
