Glennon Messall, 56, Dickinson, died Saturday, April 26, 2008. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m., MDT Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Ladbury Funeral Service with Rev. Noel Vold presiding. Glennon’s funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. CDT, Friday, May 2, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington with Rev. Bruce Vold officiating. Interment will follow at the Carrington Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. CDT at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.

Glennon Ray Messall was born September 15, 1951 to Ray and Evelyn (Hembroff) Messall at Carrington. Glennon was raised on the family farm near Carrington and attended school at Carrington. Glennon worked for Hoppe Construction and HiWay Standard, Carrington before beginning a 22 year career with the North Dakota Department of Transportation. Glennon transferred to the Dickinson area in 1997.

Glennon married Jeannie Reisnour on September 4, 1981 at Grace Lutheran Church, Carrington. Glennon enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, farming, and playing cards, but time spent with his family and friends was cherished. Glennon shared a very special bond and friendship with his brother-in-law, Terry “Turbo” Schoeler. He was a member of the Carrington Lion Club and a dedicated volunteer with the Dickinson Community Action Partnership Program receiving the Volunteer of the Year Award.

Glennon is survived by his wife, Jeannie, one daughter Gloria (Terry) Swart, Valley City; four sons, Chares (Christi) Fargo, Dane, Minneapolis, Minn. Michael (fiance, Tamahra), Mandan and Brett, Dickinson; his mother Evelyn Messall, Seattle, Wash.; one brother, Marvin (Tina) Seattle; five sisters, Karen (Tim) Etherington, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Kristi (Michael) Meidinger, Dickinson, Mellena (Gary) Sorrels, Val (Garry) Rustan, and Rosean (Jim) Shortt all of the Seattle area; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
