Gwen Egly, 57, Belfield, died Thursday, March 29, 2018 as a result of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. Gwen’s Funeral Service will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Belfield Lutheran Church with Pastor Roger Dieterle officiating. Interment will follow at Belfield Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service and will continue on Tuesday, one hour prior to service at the church.
Gwen R. Harchenko was born May 24, 1960 in Beach, daughter of James and Agnes (Zielsdorf) Harchenko. She was raised and educated in Beach, having graduated from Beach High School in 1978, and then went on to attend Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. She worked in the oilfield for one year prior to her marriage.
Gwen was united in marriage to Edwin “Sonny” Egly on May 21, 1983 at First Lutheran Church in Beach. Together they ranched north of Belfield and for the past seven years she worked at Baker Boy in Dickinson. She enjoyed spending time with her family and had became a Master in Tae Kwon Do over the years.
Gwen is survived by her husband, Sonny; three children, John Egly, Fairfield, Joshua Egly, Belfield and Jodee Egly, Belfield; her dad, James Harchenko; sisters, Marsha (Rip) Harber, Belgrade, Mont., Lare Bumgarner, Wahpeton, and Myra (Kevin) Kosse, Bismarck; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother Agnes.
