Harold D. Lutz, 91, formerly of New England, died Thursday, April 11, 2019 surrounded by his family at St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. Harold’s Celebration of Life Service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church, New England with Rev. Colin Neuharth officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the New England American Legion Anton Ulijohn Post #66. Interment will take place at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

On the morning of April 11, 2019, God called his child, Harold Lutz to eternal joy and peace.

Harold was born to Edward and Nora (Ullevig) Lutz on November 15, 1927, in a farmhouse near Havelock. He proudly served with the 49th Ordinance Medium Maintenance Company, stationed at Sendai, Japan from August 21, 1946 to April 28, 1947.

He took over management of the family farm at the age of 21. Harold was a kind and gentle man with a heart of gold. Family was everything to him. He enjoyed many trips to Arizona and Seattle, Wash. to be with family, where he enjoyed salmon fishing on the “Nora J.”, a fishing vessel named after his mother.

He was predeceased by parents, Ed and Nora Lutz; and sisters, Lorraine Freitag and Evonne Zahn.
