Harold “Harry” Olheiser, 77, Dickinson, died Friday, June 30, 2017 at Sanford Health Bismarck. Harry’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Shannon Lucht as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Pius Cemetery, Schefield. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., Wednesday at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Kris Ringwall presiding.
Harold Olheiser was born January 27, 1940 in Dickinson, the son of David F. and Elisabeth (Vogel) Olheiser. He was raised and educated in Dickinson, graduating from Dickinson High School in 1958.
Harry was united in marriage to Jane Rose Ehlis August 17, 1961 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson. In the early 1960’s with his brother David, they began Olheiser Masonry, and later developed Olheiser Rentals. He and Jane operated the businesses after 1983 and up until the time of her death on January 3, 2004. Harry continued to operate the businesses until retirement in 2010.
He was a lifetime member of the Elks. He enjoyed going fishing, especially with his brother David, collecting cars and spending time at the cabin.
Harry is survived by three children, Patricia (Jason) Eilo, Minot, Thomas (Shawna) Olheiser, Gladstone and John Olheiser, Fargo; seven grandchildren, Austin, Christepher, Sabrina, Sheyanne, Samuel, Elizabeth and Grayson; two great-grandchildren, Serenity and Wyatt, one brother, David (Ellie) Olheiser, Dickinson and his extended Ehlis family. He was preceded in death by his wife Jane and his parents.
