Hildegard “Hilda” Huschka, 79, Dickinson, died Saturday, December 2, 2017 at CHI St. Alexius, Dickinson. Hilda’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 7, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Keith Streifel as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday at Ladbury Funeral Service with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Al Schwindt presiding.
Hildegard M. Schwindt was born January 31, 1938 in the Manning, the daughter of John and Katherine (Weiler) Schwindt. She was raised and educated in the Manning area.
Hilda was united in marriage to Lawrence Huschka on January 4, 1956 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed time spent with Lawrence volunteering in the community and visiting with their family and many friends.
Hilda is survived by her husband, Lawrence; her children, Glen (Cheryl) Huschka, Dickinson, Gale (Randy) Berger, Dickinson, Gloria (Tim) Wolf, Le Center, Minn., and Gary (Cary) Huschka, Dickinson; 12 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; siblings, Lydia (Elmer) Krebs, Dickinson, Jerome Schwindt, Dickinson, Louie (Joan) Schwindt, Nevis, Minn., and Judith (Ed) Heinen, Spearfish, S.D. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Monica Frank; and brother, John Schwindt.
