Ida Olheiser, 83, Dickinson, died Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Ida’s Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Keith Streifel as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a rosary and vigil at 6 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Al Schwindt presiding.
Ida M. Kooren was born August 25, 1936 in Dickinson, the daughter of Ray and Anna (Splichal) Kooren. She was raised and educated in South Heart, graduating in 1955. Following graduation, she worked at Woolworth’s.
Ida was united in marriage to Pete Olheiser on May 21, 1956 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, South Heart. In 1962, they purchased and moved to the Olheiser farm southeast of Dickinson. They farmed together until Pete’s death on November 28, 2001. Ida remained on the farm until 2017 when she became a resident of Evergreen and eventually St. Benedict’s Health Center.
She was a member of St. Anne’s Society and the St. Pius Verein. Ida enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, gardening and playing cards. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, but especially her grandchildren.
Ida is survived by her children, Randy Olheiser, Dickinson and Rhonda (Russ) Weber, Dickinson; grandchildren, Stacie Gress, Seattle, Wash. and Tyler Gress, Dickinson; siblings, Lillian Dvorak, Dickinson and Cornelius (Kathy) Kooren, Fargo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Olheiser; son-in-law, Kipp Gress; and sister, Elsie (Hutzenbiler) Kilzer. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Benedict’s Health Center or ABLE Inc.
