Irene M. Miller, 75, Dickinson died Friday, March 20, 2009 at her home. Irene’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Jeff Zwack. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m., with Deacon Ron Wolberg presiding.
Irene M. Patzer was born May 15, 1933 at Harvey the daughter of Adam and Milicina (Knopp) Patzer. She graduated from Hurdsfield High School and then attended Valley City State Teachers College. Irene taught in Berlin Township and later in Tolna where she met and married Leonard Gaking on April 8, 1955. They had one son, Earle.
Irene worked for the ASCS in Devils Lake for a few years. On March 20, 1982 she married Mike F. Miller in Dickinson where she resided until her death.
Irene is survived by her husband, Mike; six children, Earle (Karen) Gaking, Bismarck, Connie (Larry) Hutmacher, Dickinson, Nancy Gaking, Bismarck, Patty (Paul) Carmichael, Mandan, Tina (Bill) Marsh, Bismarck, and Holly (Gary) Mosbrucker, Dickinson; seven grandchildren; two great, grandchildren; one sister, Anne Hoff, Bowdon; one brother, Otto (Edith) Patzer, Hurdsfield; and one sister-in-law, Theresa Patzer; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Reuben, Alfred, Salmer, Herbert and Harold; two sisters, Ida Gardner and Maggie Roll; and one son, Scott Miller.
