Isabelle M. Peters, 76, Dickinson died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Isabelle’s funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Chaplain Harold Sundgren officiating. Interment will take place at the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, S.D. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to service time Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Isabelle M. Schaff was born May 18, 1932 on the home place in Bowman County of North Dakota, the daughter of Frank and Matilda (Hirsch) Schaff. The family moved to Dickinson when she was at a young age and as a teenager she returned to Bowman to live with her Grandma Schaff. In 1952 she had worked at the Lucky Star Café.

Isabelle was united in marriage to Paul Raymond Peters on October 20, 1952 in Miles City, Mont. and to this union three children were born. Isabelle was a very hard worker. She also took care of the books for her husband’s and son’s business. She cherished her cats and dogs that she had over the years. Isabelle and Paul made Dickinson their home in the early 1990’s.

Family was important to Isabelle and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Isabelle is survived by her husband, Paul; their three children, Paula (Doug) Anton, Dickinson, James Peters, Bowman, and Lisa (Douglas) Kruckenberg, Mandan; two granddaughters, Jody (Keith) Billman and Julie Zimbelman; three great-grandchildren, Kyle, Carter and Hannah Billman; and nine siblings, Eleanor Kilwein, New England, Joan (Ivo) Schoch, New England, Laura Carter, Camp Verde, Ariz., Bernie (Seb) Dukart, Dickinson, Mary Jean Collins, Cottonwood, Ariz., Raymond (Linda) Schaff, Dickinson, Donald (Richinda) Schaff, Dickinson, Bill (Margaret) Schaff, Renton, Wash., and Robert (Gerri) Schaff, Mexia, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents.
