Isidore was born on October 20th, 1941 to Christ and Elizabeth (Krenzel) Plotzki in Dickinson, ND. Isidore was raised on the family farm and ranch alongside his older sister Mary where he grew to love the rural way of life. He attended Dodge Public School and graduated in 1960. Following High School Isidore attended a semester at Dickinson State College, but his love of the farm and ranch called him back home. Isidore spent the rest of his adult life working alongside his father Christ and later by himself raising beef cattle. He farmed small grains and raised sheep, chickens, and various other livestock through the years. Isidore milked dairy cattle and separated cream until changes in the industry forced him to stop. He also grew to love gardening from his mother Elizabeth and helped harvest and preserve large quantities of fruits and vegetables every year. Isidore was very fond of horses and always had a saddle horse or two to be used for work and pleasure. Isidore’s favorite horse was an Arabian paint he named Duke, and he enjoyed giving children rides on the horse and had many stories to share about him. Through the years Isidore had many dogs that he cared for and treasured and considered family. He drove rural route school bus for several years and enjoyed attending sporting events in Dodge to support his friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed playing Santa Claus and handing gifts out to school children after Christmas programs. Isidore was a fan of Chevrolet automobiles and had many stories to tell about his Baby Blue 1969 Chevelle Malibu. He enjoyed playing pinochle, listening and dancing to country western music and the occasional ice-cold beer.
Isidore was a devoted son, and as Christ and Elizabeth grew older, he made many personal sacrifices to care for them and allow them to stay on the farm and ranch that they all loved together as a family.
He appreciated the farm and ranch community in Dodge and worked closely with many of his friends and neighbors through the years. The family would like to thank all Isidore’s friends and neighbors who assisted him through the years. A special thank you goes out to Delbert Zarr, who watched closely over Isidore when he was alone on the ranch to make sure he got the support he needed while allowing him to maintain his independence.
Isidore was a devout Catholic and a current member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Halliday.
Isidore was preceded in death by his parents Christ and Elizabeth (Krenzel) Plotzki and sister Mary (Anton) Senger. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
