James A. “Jim” Wilson, aged 90, of Dickinson, and formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana, died December 7, 2023. His loving wife Dorothy, and several of her children were by his side. Jim’s Liturgy of Word Service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Deacon Al Schwindt presiding. Military Honors will be provided by the Dickinson American Legion Post 3 Honor Guard. Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson.

Jim was born July 11, 1933 in Scottsburg, IN to the late Raymond L. Wilson and Mary F. Fitch Wilson. The family relocated to Indianapolis when Jim was a boy. He graduated from Arsenal Technical School in 1951. Jim  was an accomplished amateur boxer, winning the Times-Legion Golden Gloves Championship for Indiana in 1950.

After high school Jim joined the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He served his time in the Corps at MCAS Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. After service Jim remained a proud Marine his entire life. He returned to Indianapolis where he began his 36 year career with Indiana Bell as a repair, and line technician. There he met, and married his first wife in 1955. They had seven children together.

Jim married Dorothy Schwindt Neurohr of Dickinson in 1995. Together they had 16 adult children at the time of their marriage. They were married 28 loving years. Jim once said that the key to their happiness was “Every day Dorothy adds to my life, and I try to do the same for her.” They lived in Indianapolis for 18 years. Afterwards they moved to Dickinson to share their lives with Dorothy’s children.

Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Dorothy, of Dickinson; his children, Thomas, of Modesto, CA, Daniel, of Oldsmar, FL, Kathleen (Mike) Dail of Bothell, WA, Michael of St. Petersburg, FL, James (Cora) of St. Petersburg, FL, and David, of Hillsboro, OR. Also Jim is survived by step-children who he loved very much, Lynn (Gary) Krank, Cher (Rick) Regeth, Harv (Larry) Gunwall, Dennis (Trudie) Neurohr, Lorna O’Connor, Deb Neurohr, Donna Polensky, Mark Neurohr, and Mick (Carrie) Neurohr, all of Dickinson area. The blended family has 34 grandchildren, and so so many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Edward L. Wilson; his son, Edward R. Wilson; and a great-grandson, Nehemiah Scott.
