Janel Marie Kuntz, 43, Dickinson, died and went to meet the Lord Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in Dickinson surrounded by her family. Janel’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Msgr. Patrick Schumacher as the celebrant. Inurnment will follow at St. Pius Cemetery, Schefield. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., with Deacon Bob Stockert presiding. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., at the church.

Janel Marie was born June 2, 1971 at Dickinson, the daughter of Willie and Florence (Reisenauer) Kuntz. She was raised and educated in Dickinson, graduating from Dickinson High School in 1989. She went on to attend RD’s Beauty School in Bismarck, receiving her cosmetology degree in 1990. She returned to Dickinson and worked at Hair Port until making a move to Bismarck in 2000. Janel worked at Arby’s until 2002 when she moved to Texas and became General Manager of Braum’s Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlor. She resided in Waxahachie, Texas until July of 2014 when she came back to Dickinson to be with her family.

In 2011 Janel was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and fought a courageous battle until she left this world to become a bright white star in the sky. Her final wish was to go to Sturgis, which was fulfilled on August 2nd and 3rd.

She loved working in the garden with flowers. Riding her Harley Davidson and spending time with her family and all of her numerous friends. She had a great love for all animals, especially her family of cats.

Janel is survived by her parents, Willie and Florence; her sisters, Ardella (Kent) Bellerud, Bismarck, and Sarah (Shawn) Frank, Dickinson; nieces and nephews, Heather (Robert) Sanders, Yorkton, Va., Brittany Miller, Dickinson, Alex (Julia) Bellerud, Findlay, Ohio, Devon and Ty Frank, Dickinson; along with many wonderful aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Nick and Caroline Reisenauer, and Anton and Ida Kuntz; Aunt Diane Privratsky; cousin, Jennifer Kuntz; and infant uncle, Richard Kuntz.
