Jared Burian the second son of Maynard and Michele (Fugere) Burian was born on May 15, 1982, at Dickinson. He received his elementary education at Prairie School in Fairfield, graduated with the Class of 2000 at Killdeer High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Biology from Dickinson State University. Upon graduation he went to work for the National Park Service at Lake Mead National Recreation Area in Arizona, and later at Theodore Roosevelt National Park for six seasons. He had made numerous friends across the nation while working for the National Park Service, but was especially fond of Chad Prosser, who had mentored him during this time. He had also worked for Denny’s Electric and Berger Electric.

Jared was truly great a person. As a friend, he was always there whenever you needed him, and was just as loyal as his dog Allie. His wife Patti (Schaefer ) Burian, friends and family were his whole life and would do anything for any of them. He loved hunting, fishing, basketball and good food.

Jared was raised on a farm and ranch near Manning. Growing up, Jared had a deep love of sports with basketball his favorite. In high school he played basketball, ran track and cross country for Killdeer High School. While he was in college, he coached basketball for the Billings County Bobcats and then the Killdeer Cowboys as an assistant coach. His other favorite activities included hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his two hunting dogs Allie & Remi. He was a volunteer fire fighter for Golden Valley and Billings County.

After meeting his soul mate Patti, his life became complete as he found a partner who shared the same passions. Jared and Patti were married in August of 2012. Shortly after their wedding the two moved from Belfield and bought a home in Beach to share their lives together.

Jared is survived by his wife Patti Burian; his parents, Maynard and Michele Burian; brothers, Travis (Kristin) Burian, and Trevor Burian; three nieces, Kinley, Landon and Chase Burian; two nephews, Tucker and Calvin Schaefer; grandparents, Frances and Kenneth Adams and Pete and Pat Schaefer; mother-in-law, Tricia Roth; brother-in-law, Skylar (Kayla) Schaefer; his two loyal labs, Allie and Remi; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends. The family prefers memorials to a scholarship fund that will be established at Dickinson State University for students in Agriculture or Biology.
