Jeanette G. Mischel, 74, Dickinson, died Thursday, January 8, 2009 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Jeanette’s Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 12, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson with Father Darnis as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Dickinson Mausoleum. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service with a rosary & vigil at 3 p.m. with Deacon Gene Morman presiding.
Jeanette G. Anton was born May 10, 1934 on the family farm near Lefor to Christ K. and Katherine (Blasy) Anton. After completing her education in country schools near the farm, Jeanette moved to Dickinson and cleaned homes and babysat for several families in Dickinson. Jeanette married Leo Mischel on October 8, 1952 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Lefor and together they moved to their own farm southeast of Richardton. In 1989 they retired from farming and moved to Dickinson. Jeanette became a resident of St. Benedicts Health center in January 2007. In her spare time, Jeanette enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, playing the accordion, and playing cards.
Jeanette is survived by her husband, Leo; eight children, Gary (Vivian), Cape Coral, Fla., Sharon (Vince) Ruiterman, Corona, Calif., Duane (Denise), Fargo, Diane, Rapid City, S.D., Lori (Randy) Linder, Wheatland, Calif., Don, Argusville, Dennis (Barb), Horace, and Randy, Bismarck; two step children, Nancy Schmidt, Bismarck and Kent Mischel, Bryan, Texas; seven sisters, Bertha Anton, Eleanor Beaudoin, Helen Beaudoin, Anna Helfrich, Appolonia Fichter, Kathlene Oukrop, and Mary Anne Chantry; two brothers, George and Donald Anton; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Pauline Fichter and three brothers, Albert, Edward, and Martin Anton.
