Jerome R. “Jerry” Stenehjem, 80, Dickinson, died Saturday, October 28, 2017 surrounded by family at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. A Memorial Service for Jerry will be at 7 p.m., Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Bob Zent officiating. Inurnment will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Williston. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday.

Jerome Stenehjem was born March 8, 1937 in Williston, son of Oscar T. and Loretta (Avery) Stenehjem. He was raised and educated in Williston, having graduated from Williston High School. Jerry served honorably in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957, having been station in Germany. Jerry went on to become a Certified Master Electrician. He owned and operated Industrial Electric Service.

Jerry was united in marriage to Joan Sticka on December 1, 1994, Las Vegas, Nev.

Jerry belonged to the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association). He enjoyed flying his motorized parachute and going to stock car races.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Joan; two children, Julie A. (Duane) Kilbourn and Jerome O. Stenehjem, Tucson, Ariz.; two step-children, Greg (Pam) Decker and Jeff (Carrie) Decker, Dickinson; twelve grandchildren, Trenton Stenehjem, Taylor Stenehjem, Samantha Kilbourn, Kassie Lutz, Karla Athey, Kristen Klein, Jessica Marburger, Justin Decker, Amber Decker, Brandi Decker, Nick Mayer, Nichole Messer; thirteen great-grandchildren, Luna Stenehjem, Aunya Stenehjem, McKenna Athey, Carsten Klein, Hudson Klein, Clayton Lutz, Jett Marburger, Jayla Marburger, Tavon Decker, Lakynn Decker, Cayden Messer, Kinzlee Messer and Cally Thompson; two siblings, Thomas (Hanna) Stenehjem, Carlisle, Pa. and Mavis Halvorson, North Las Vegas, Nev.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one great-grandson, Noah Stenehjem.
