Jerry A. Dolechek, 50, Dickinson, died Friday, November 28, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital & Health Center, Dickinson. Jerry’s funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2014 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service. There will be a rosary at 7 p.m., Thursday.

Jerry Allen Dolechek was born February 2, 1964 at Dickinson, the son of George and Rose Mary (Stockert) Dolechek. He was raised and educated in Dickinson, graduating from Dickinson High School. He loved helping on the family farm, and also helped other farmers and did some custom combining. He married Sharmon Joy Bradley on June 26, 1995.

He enjoyed going fishing, camping, and playing cards. His greatest joys came from his participation in Special Olympics for over 30 years. He began at the age of 16, and with a strong work ethic and dedication it led him to participate in three International/World Games, and two US National Games. Taking part in many of the sports available to him, he found plenty of success. Most recently in the summer of 2014 he was a member of the 4th place volleyball team at the US Games in New Jersey. Throughout his time with Special Olympics, Jerry has always been humble in victory and gracious in defeat.

Jerry is survived by his three children, Derek Alan (Katie) Dolechek, Dickinson, Rene Marie Dolechek, Glen Ullin, and Bridget Fay Dolechek, Glen Ullin; one grandson, Adrik Alan Dolechek; his mother, Rose Mary Dolechek; his siblings, Jeffery Allen (Therese) Dolechek, Georgianne (Elmer) Krebs, Jr., Laurie Sundquist, Larry Allen (Barbie) Dolechek, Jamie Allen Dolechek, and Valerie Annmarie (Harlow Frogness) Dolechek; and numerous nieces and nephews, Jessica and Lisa Dolechek, Carl and Mary Krebs, Robin, Kristina and Donavon Sundquist, Ethan and Darin Dolechek, Sylvie and Sourn Frogness.

He was preceded in death by his dad, George; brothers, Gary and Terry; and grandparents, Adam and Marianne Stockert, and Valentine and Anna Dolechek.
