Joanne D. Hoyt, age 75, of Minot passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Trinity Hospital after battling cancer. Joanne’s Graveside Service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, June 4, 2021 at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson.

Joanne was born May 6, 1946 in Mott to Dan and Jeanette Glaser. She was raised and grew up on the family farm. After graduating from high school, she attended Bismarck State College and later moved to Dickinson for employment.

In 1976 she married Donn Hoyt in Dickinson. They spent many years there working together and operating the family business:  Diamond Equipment. Joanne and Donn loved to travel and visited many destinations, they especially enjoyed finding unique souvenirs to bring home. Family activities were another big part of their lives.

They later moved to Billings, Mont. and began working for Fisher Sand and Gravel. Donn passed away in 1991. Joanne then moved to Minot and began working at Premier Pulses until her retirement.

Joanne loved to cook and entertain for family and friends. She had wonderful taste. Her love for animals and their care lasted throughout her life.

Joanne is survived by her children:  Terry (Susie) Hoyt, Cheyenne, Wyo., Gayle (Susette) Hoyt, Lucas, Texas, Nina Scheffels, Parker, Colo., Gene (Dianne) Hoyt, Dickinson, Tim (Kathy) Hoyt, Dickinson, Bobby (Kellye) Hoyt, Prescott Valley, Ariz., Dan (Dale Ann) Hoyt, Dickinson, Dale (Nadine) Hoyt, Dickinson, and  Paul (Kammi) Hoyt, New Prague, Minn.; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; siblings:  brothers, Jim and David Glaser, Mott; sisters, Jane (Randy) Schaible, Mesa, Ariz., and June (David) Grubb, Tioga; sister-in-law, Sandra Glasser, Gardner, Kansas; four nieces; and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donn Hoyt; her parents, Dan and Jeanette Glaser; brother, John; and great-granddaughter, Kadence.
