Joe Grinsteiner, 81, formerly Dickinson, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Banner Baywood Medical Center, Mesa, Ariz. Graveside services for Joe will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson.

Joseph Grinsteiner was born February 23, 1936 in Dodge, son of Mike and Agolena (Bleile) Grinsteinner. He was raised and educated in Dickinson, graduating from Dickinson High School and then having gone on to a trade school in Bismarck. He later earned an Electrical Engineering Degree.

Joe was united in marriage to Lorraine Kraiter on July 6, 1955 in Dickinson. Joe worked in electronics throughout his life, retiring from DMS in the early 2000’s. His wife Lorraine died September 24, 2000. He enjoyed playing softball, collecting baseball cards and coins, traveling, playing cards and the guitar. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was united in marriage to his longtime companion, Maria Olson, on June 29, 2015 at Apache Junction, Ariz.

Joe is survived by three children, Jeff (Kathy) Grinsteiner, Jamestown, Rick (Lynne) Grinsteiner, Devils Lake, and Cody (Doug) Stangeland, Carrington; six grandchildren, Chad (Heather) Grinsteiner, Dawn (Ryan) Altringer, Chase (Kelsey) Grinsteiner, Randy (Sara) Kollman, Justin (Brooke) Kollman and Kaley (Marshall Howard) Grinsteiner; six great-grandchildren, Afton and Harper Grinsteiner, Ty and Tate Grinsteiner, Jayce and Easton Kollman; five sisters, Lena Zarr, Katherine Metts, Agnes Coffey, Joan (Denny) Archer and Vickie (Richard) Decker; three brothers, Adam (Pat) Grinsteinner, Hank Grinsteinner and John (Bev) Grinsteinner; numerous nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Donald (Olga) Kraiter.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Lorraine and his second wife Maria.
