John Flynn Ell, 48, Dickinson, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday August 13, 2017 at CHI St. Alexius, Bismarck, after a brief illness. There will be a Gathering of Family And Friends to celebrate his life on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.
The son of Flynn and Karin (Hahn) Ell, he was born on June 25, 1969, in Port Angeles, Wash., and has been a resident of Dickinson since 1978. He graduated from Dickinson High School in 1988 and later went on to attend Dickinson State University for Commercial Truck Driving. He earned his Commercial Drivers License and went to work for Missouri Basin Well Services for over 19 years. He recently became an employee of Rocky Mountain Crude Oil in early 2017.
John always had a huge smile on his face, which was almost always accompanied by one of his corny or great sarcastic comebacks.
He is sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and his many, many friends for his generosity, kindness, and unique sense of humor. He loved, more than anything, spending time and making memories with his daughter, his little peanut.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Emercyn Journey Ell; wife, Cynthia Theurer Ell; stepchildren, Courtney, Brittney, Preston, Tanner, Jersey, Jocelyn and Kezley Theurer; and mother-in-law, Tweety Wariner, all of Dickinson; sisters, Roberta Harvey (Sanford Tweedie) of Glassboro, N.J., and Shannon Ortega (Regino Ortega) of El Paso, Texas; nephew, Philip Ortega of El Paso, Texas; and nieces, Tara Harvey (Gustavo Guimaraes) of Berlin, Germany, and Callan Tweedie of Glassboro, N.J. He was preceded in death by his father; father-in-law, Jerry Wariner; and stepson, Kevin Theurer II.
The Ell family would like to extend a special thank you to Kevin Theurer and his family and to Rod and Jackie Miller, all of Dickinson, for their support during this difficult time.
