Jon L. Magelky, 54, Dickinson, died Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Hill Top Home of Comfort, Killdeer. Private family services will take place with burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson, with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding.
Jon L. Magelky was born January 25, 1962 in Grand Forks, the son of Larry and Shirley (Nuss) Magelky. He was raised and educated in Hibbing, Minn., Watertown, S.D., Casper, Wyo., and eventually Dickinson, where he graduated from Dickinson High School in 1980.
He worked various jobs throughout his life, such as fast food establishments, with a seismograph crew, at a skating rink, and he had also owned and operated a vacuum center. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and driving his Camaro. For the past 31 years Jon has been dealing with MS.
Jon is survived by his parents, Larry and Shirley, Dickinson; sister, Debby (Steve) Hunnicutt, Dickinson; brother, Keith Magelky, Phoenix, Ariz.; four nieces; one nephew; five great nieces and nephews; and his grandma Emma Magelky, Dickinson. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lorie Ann Magelky; and his other grandparents.
