Joseph K. Jordan, 78, Bismarck formerly of Lefor, ND, our earthly father, husband, grandfather, uncle and friend to many is now with our heavenly father on this 7th day of February of 2007. Joseph’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2007 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Lefor with Fr. Basil Atwell, OSB as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson and will continue one hour prior to services at the church. There will be a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m., Friday at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Joe was born on November 26, 1928 to Frank and Lena (Miller) Jorda on the family farm near Lefor, ND. He was the youngest of five sons and all were raised on the family farm southeast of Lefor. Joe was united in marriage to Lorraine Martin on September 27, 1949 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church. He spent his lifetime farming and ranching near Lefor, retiring in 1990. They continued to live on the farm and co-managed the KC Club for five years until 2005 when they moved to Bismarck due to health reasons.

Joe joined the Knights of Columbus in 1946, was a charter member of the Lefor council having served as president and trustee, and eventually became a 4th Degree Knight. He served on the Lefor School Board for 15 years and was a dedicated to be a leader to the Rainbow Valley 4-H program. Under his leadership they received many top awards, such as Outstanding Club from 1966 to 1971, and also trips and community service.

Joe is survived by his wife Lorraine, Bismarck; their five children, Gary (Karen) Jordan, Sioux Falls, SD, Ron (Susie) Jordan, Fargo, Corine Jordan, Houston, TX, Gene (Denise) Jordan, Bismarck, and Janel (Dean) Karsky, Sioux Falls, SD; 10 grandchildren, Heather Jordan, Kristen and Candice Jordan, Ashley and Ryan Alletag, Brittany and Brian Jordan, and Derrick, Collin and Kaylee Karsky; one sister-in-law, Irene Jorda; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Marcus, Frank, John and Pete.
