Joseph Streitz, 80, Dickinson, died Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at MedCenter One, Bismarck. Joe’s memorial service will be at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2011 with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding, inurnment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Sentinel Butte. Visitation will be Saturday from 8 a.m. until service time at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. Military honors will be provided by the Dickinson Honors Team.

Joseph A. Streitz was born February 5, 1931 at Golva to Joseph M. Streitz and Evangeline (Latterel) Streitz. He was educated in Sentinel Butte. Joe joined the U.S. Navy in January 1951 and was honorably discharged in November 1954. Following his discharge, Joe returned to Sentinel Butte and married Marcella ‘Sally’ Dietz. Together they farmed in the Sentinel Butte area. After moving to Dickinson, Joe became self employed.

Joe is survived by five children, Tracy Streitz, Williston, Timothy (Kathy) Streitz, St. Peter, Minn., Terry (Sharon) Streitz, Casper, Wyo., Leona (Bob Wiles) Streitz, Casper, Wyo., and Michelle (Paul) Trennell, London, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Marie Robertson, Dickinson, Irene Lange, Dickinson, Mildred Dietz, Sentinel Butte, Frank Streitz, Neosho, Mo., Teresa Christenson, Ketchakan, Alaska, Lawrence Streitz, N.J., and Lorraine Boyd, Billings, Mont., and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally, one daughter, Peggy Streitz, and one brother Paul Streitz. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given in Joe’s name to: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery Foundation, 1826 46th St, Mandan, ND 58554-9943.
