Josephine “Jo” Scheeler, 87. Dickinson, died Saturday, March 31, 2018 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Jo’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 5, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Keith Streifel as the celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service with a Christian Mothers rosary and parish vigil at 6 p.m. with Deacon Al Schwindt presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Josephine “Jo” Scheeler was born October 26, 1930 in Dunn County, daughter of Peter and Helen (Krenzel) Fettig. She grew up in Werner and attended country school.

Jo was united in marriage to Gilbert “Gil” Scheeler on November 8, 1949 in Dodge. They made their home in Dickinson. Jo and Gil enjoyed 66 years of marriage. They had four children, Cheryl, Dan, Danette and Carol Jean.

Jo was employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 34 years. She was a trusted and valued employee who always had a kind word. She enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing and reading and was a historian. Jo also belonged to Christian Mothers.

Jo is survived by her children, Danette (Jerry) Gayda, Dickinson and Carol Jean Pachinger, Las Vegas, Nev.; daughter-in-law, Ronda Scheeler, Abilene, Texas; eight grandchildren, Tyler (Andi) Scheeler, Koleah Gayda, Logan Scheeler, Michael (Kristine) Gayda, Miranda (Rowdy) Lund, Kirby Scheeler, Joey Scheeler-Guanci, and Carlie Pachinger; three great-grandchildren, Brayden and Cleo Beth Scheeler and Crew Gayda; siblings, Felix (Carol) Fettig, George Fettig and Paul (Doris) Fettig; sister-in-law, Mary Fettig; and numerous wonderful nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert; parents, Peter and Helen; daughter, Cheryl; son, Dan; sister, Regina; and brother, Frank.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. Joseph’s Pine Room Fund or the V.A. Memorial Fund.
