Joyce Rusk, 77, Dickinson died Friday, March 13, 2009 at the St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. A memorial service for Joyce will be at 5 p.m., Monday, March 16, 2009 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Rev. Scott McKirdy officiating. Inurnment will take place at the Carrington Cemetery, Carrington. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Joyce E. Montgomery was born February 16, 1932 at Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Guy E. and Lucille (Hunting) Montgomery. She graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and had taught school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Washington, Iowa, and Minneapolis, Minn.
Joyce married John H. Rusk on November 28, 1957 at Washington, Iowa. They moved to Dickinson in 1971. Joyce and John belonged to the Elks in Dickinson. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, playing bridge, and bowling when possible.
Joyce is survived by her husband, John; their two sons, Kevan (Robyn) Rusk, East Grand Forks, Minn., and Kelley (Candy) Rusk, Fargo; three grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew and Lauren; and one brother, Guy (Kay) Montgomery, Jr., Powell, Wyo. She was preceded in death by her parents.
