Kelly D. Dewey, 59, Dickinson, died Sunday, December 25, 2016 with family at her side at Sanford Health, Bismarck. After nearly 20 years, she lost her battle against cancer. There will be a memorial gathering of family and friends with a time of sharing stories and memories of Kelly on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Ladbury Funeral Service from 2 p.m. to 4 pm.
Kelly D. Ternes was born June 30, 1957 in Elgin, to Matt and Mavis (Bunn) Ternes. She was a graduate of Lemmon High School. Kelly married her husband Robert Dewey June 15, 1974 in Lemmon, S.D. She worked as a secretary until beginning their family. She became a stay at home mother to their two sons, Seth and Justin. They moved from Lemmon to Reeder and finally settled in Dickinson in 1989. Kelly enjoyed sewing and doing crafts. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons, Seth (Dawn) Dewey, Anacortes, Wash. and Justin (Sarah) Dewey, Aberdeen, S.D.; granddaughter Amelia Dewey; mother, Mavis Ternes, Mandan; sister, Max (Ron) Rugland, Mandan; sister, Maureen (Vern) Wandler, Spanawa, Wash.; and brother, Kevin Ternes, Phoenix, Ariz.
Kelly is preceded in death by her father Matt Ternes.
