Kelly Weatherford was born April 22, 1957 to Walter “Bud” and Donna (Berridge) Weatherford at Manhattan, Kan. When Kelly was four years old she and her family moved to Dickinson where Kelly spent her younger years playing with her brother, sister and friends. After graduating from Dickinson High School in 1975, Kelly attended Dickinson State University and North Dakota State University where she graduated with degrees in Child Development and Elementary Education. In 1980, she took a job teaching fifth grade in Scranton.

Kelly married Robert “Bob” on June 13, 1987 at the Dickinson United Methodist Church, Dickinson. Bob was on active duty in the United States Army so Kelly spent the next 20 years traveling the world with Bob on his numerous military assignments. Kelly continued to teach and do various other jobs, but her main goal was to make a home for Bob and herself wherever they lived and she succeeded at this. Kelly and Bob moved back to Dickinson in 2012 where they were able to move back into her childhood home. Kelly loved taking care of Bob and their home.

Kelly was an avid dog lover who liked to play board games, camp and hike with Bob, and socialize with family and friends. Kelly faithfully attended Badlands Community Bible Church where she enjoyed participating in Bible Studies and Women’s Fellowship activities. In the evenings, you could often time find her at home curled up with a good romance novel or a crossword puzzle book.

Kelly is survived by her husband, Bob; one sister, Cathy (Gary) Ladbury, Dickinson; one brother, David (Bekki) Weatherford, Albuquerque, N.M.; one aunt, Lauretta Fenton, Kansas City, Mo.; three nieces, Tara (Ladbury) Moore, Erin (Ladbury) Tkach, and Tawney Weatherford; two nephews, William and Bryce Weatherford; and numerous cousins.

Kelly’s infectious smile and laugh will be missed by all.
