Ken was born December 2, 1948 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson to Martin and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Stroh. Ken attended school in Killdeer until he moved to Dickinson at the age of 17 and began working at several different jobs including roofing, working on oil rigs, constructing steel buildings and grain bins. After he suffered a disabling work related accident and endured several corrective surgeries he continued to work at carpentry which he really enjoyed. Ken never asked for much but was always willing to help anyone who needed a favor. When it came to gardening and yard care, there is only one description “perfection”, and sharing his produce with many. Ken also enjoyed NASCAR Racing and football, often watching two TVs at the same time.
Ken is survived by his children Kyle Stroh, Flasher and Keesha Stroh, Bismarck, and one granddaughter Kianna. Ken will be dearly missed by his mother and brothers and sisters, Carl Stroh and Hilda Roller Lamprecht, Dickinson, Bernie Axtman and Annette “Ellen” (Ted) Giovannoni, Bismarck, and Marvin (Joanie Palaniuk) Stroh, Washburn. Ken was preceded in death by his father, Martin; two brothers-in-law Peter Roller and Frank Lamprecht; his grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
