Kenneth R. Kadrmas, 64, Dickinson, died peacefully following a recent diagnosis of cancer with the love and support of family and friends on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at his home in Dickinson. Kenneth’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Chris Kadrmas, J.C.L. as the celebrant and Fr. Jeff Zwack as con-celebrant. Interment will take place on Monday at 1 p.m., MDT at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan with Fr. Chad Gion presiding. Ken belonged to the American Legion and military honors will be provided by the New England American Legion Anton Ulijohn Post 66 following the service. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a vigil at 7 p.m., Friday at Ladbury Funeral Service with Fr. Chris Kadrmas, J.C.L. presiding.

Kenneth R. Kadrmas was born September 5, 1944 in San Diego, Calif., the son of Edmond and Georgene (Resch) Kadrmas. He was raised and educated in Dickinson having attended St. Joseph’s Grade School and graduating from Dickinson High School. Ken went on to attend NDSU in Fargo where he participated in the ROTC, belonged to the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity and earned a BS Degree in Agriculture. Ken went on to honorably serve in the United States Army.

Kenneth married Renee Rotering and together they had two children. Ken worked as a loan officer and Branch Manager for the PCA in Mandan, Beulah and Watford City. He returned to Dickinson in 1970 where he went into partnership with his father and brothers in a diversified farming operation. From 1975 to 1997 he owned and operated a diversified farm and livestock operation. Ken began working as a substitute rural mail carrier in 1985 and eventually worked into a fulltime carrier, which he was doing at the time of his death. Ken also was a service representative for farmer clients as part of the Agriculture Negotiator for North Dakota Ag Mediation.

Ken married Kathy Fisher on May 13, 2008 in Dickinson, and with this he was blessed with five daughters. They made their home in Dickinson where he enjoyed motorcycling, playing pinochle, reading, traveling world wide and attending concerts with Kathy. His greatest joy came from children, so spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews brought him great enjoyment. He was a past member of the Tumble Weed Dance Club and the Elks, and was a proud member of the Retreads.

Ken is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children, Jill Kadrmas, Fargo, Todd Kadrmas, West Fargo, Jill (Brad) Moran, Bismarck, Andrea (Todd) Dorval, Dickinson, Jayme Wolf, Dickinson, Tessa Wolf, Bismarck, and Teresa (Tyson) Bren, Dickinson; five grandchildren, Shelby, Brayden and Ty Moran, Ian and Anna Dorval; five sisters and four brothers, Sandy (Ron) Ficek, Dickinson, Vernie (Ray Chamberlin) Johnson, Surprise, Ariz., Jan Zidon, Glendale, Ariz., Laurie (Dick) Phillips, Wasilla, Alaska, Lolly Kadrmas, Bismarck, Howard (Evelyn) Kadrmas, Stockton, Calif., Gary (Evelyn) Kadrmas, Dodge, Rod Kadrmas, Fairfield, and Tom Kadrmas, Dickinson; and his mother-in-law, Judy Fisher, Dickinson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Ross.
