Kermit V. Jacobsen, 71, Dickinson, died Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Richardton Health Center, Richardton. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Fr. Todd Kreitinger presiding. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Kermit V. Jacobsen was born June 20, 1944 at Minden, Neb., the son of Chris and Erna (Mollard) Jacobsen. He was raised and educated in Nebraska. Kermit went on to earn Masters Degrees in Education with emphasis in Mathematics and Computer Science. He had spent over 45 years as an educator in the junior high, high school and college setting, most recently at Dickinson State University.
Kermit was united in marriage to Sharon L. Larson on June 17, 1967, at Littleton, Colo. They have resided in various communities.
He loved old cars, spending time with his family and friends, and will always be remembered as a very dedicated, loving and caring husband, father and grandpa. During the summer months he worked with real estate and investments, and was very good at making wise moves. He loved to go to rummage and auction sales. Kermit was very proud of hearing about former students accomplishments. Most recently he was very instrumental in making the Wurst Shop a part of their family.
Kermit “The Frog”, is survived by his wife, Sharon; two daughters, Kristina (Ken) Molitor, Dickinson, and Kimberly Jacobsen, Jamestown; grandchildren, Braeanin Bruce, Dillon Bruce, Britainy (Josh) Kralicek, Casey Molitor, Dave Molitor, and Kelly Molitor; great-grandchild, Liam Davis; and his siblings, Harlan (Sharon) Jacobsen, Charlotte Rickles, Keith (Kathy) Jacobsen, and Clayton (Audrey) Jacobsen. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son-in-law, Monty Bruce.
