The family then moved to Dickinson where he attended Dickinson Public Schools and graduated from Dickinson High School in 1966. He went on to attend Dickinson State College for a bit. He worked for Frito Lay, Holsum, Eddy’s Bakery and finally Sweetheart Bakery as a salesman/delivery man until the early 1990s when he experienced a career ending injury which led to an early retirement.

In hisĀ spare time he enjoyed golfing, playing cards, fishing, watching sports-local high school and pro, but mostly enjoyed watching his grandsons play.
