Lauren Adolf Wojahn, 88, Dickinson, died on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Benedictine Living Community with family by his side. Lauren’s Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, January 24, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Justin Waltz as celebrant. Entombment will follow at the Dickinson Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Friday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with a Rosary & Vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Ross Reiter presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
Lauren Adolf Wojahn was born August 2, 1937 in Montana, the son of Adolf and Gladys (Griffith) Wojahn. He was raised and educated in Beach through the tenth grade. Lauren was united in marriage to MaryAnn Jordan on August 6, 1968 in Dickinson.
Lauren worked in service stations, repairs shops and worked in his uncle Hank’s body shop where he painted tractors and cars. He worked with his uncle Ernie Wojahn doing welding and later went to work for Ernie Sorenson in Dickinson at Dakota Tool and Machine. Lauren went on to purchase Dakota Tool and Machine in 1971 and continued his work there until his retirement in 2008.
Following his retirement, he did a lot of woodworking, enjoyed spending time outside doing yard work, and general tinkering around. He was meticulous about his yard and shop. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and especially liked to tell stories and jokes. Lauren belonged to the Prairie Cruisers, Dakota Wheels Motorcycle Club, KC Council 6308, St. Anthony Club and the German Hungarian Club. He also kept busy in pool league and bowling.
He had many interests which included motorcycles, hot rods, fabrication, machine work, woodwork, watching dirt track racing, and helping people who were in a pinch. Lauren enjoyed volunteering with Jim and Doug with maintenance at church and was proud to be one of Ann’s “wall boys” and put walls up for CCD.
Lauren is survived by his wife, MaryAnn Wojahn, Dickinson; children, Kirk Wojahn, Gladstone, Sheryl (Danny) Corniel, Beach, Lori (Nathan) Weiler, Dickinson, Brock (Jessica) Wojahn, Dickinson, and Brent (Gina) Wojahn, Fargo; grandchildren, Mat (April) Jones, Nicole Wojahn, Kelli Wojahn, Kayla Wojahn, Max Wojahn, Haley Bentz, Gavin Weiler, Rylee Wojahn, and Grace Wojahn; siblings, David (Loeta) Wojahn, Kansas City, MO, Linda (Mac) Gilman, San Antonio, TX, Midge Kuntz, Gillette, WY, and Kevin (LaVonne) Wojahn, Dickinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolf and Gladys; and sister, Betty Brown.
