Lawrence Dorval, 55, Belfield, died Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at his home. A Memorial Service for Lawrence will be at 5 p.m., Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the Belfield Lutheran Church with Rev. Roger Dieterle officiating. Following the service there will be a supper and fellowship at the St. Bernard’s Parish Hall. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m., Friday at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Lawrence Dorval was born February 13, 1953 in Dickinson the son of Clarence and Dorothy (Ficek) Dorval. He was raised and educated in Belfield, having graduated from Belfield High School in 1972.

Lawrence married Paulette Haugrud on July 19, 1980 at Lake Park, Minn.. He had worked in the oil fields his entire adult life, having worked with various companies over the years. In his spare time, Lawrence enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time at the lake. His family was very important to him and he loved watching their girls grow up.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Paulette; their daughters, Megan (Lance Rambousek) Dorval, attending Dickinson State University, and Maren Dorval, attending Minnesota State University at Moorhead, Minn.; his parents, Clarence and Dorothy Dorval, Belfield; nine siblings, Mary Ann (Boyce VanVleet) Dorval, Grassy Butte, Leonard (Sharon) Dorval, Belfield, Gary (Colleen) Dorval, Kenmare, Alice (Kelvin) Fischer, Dickinson, Terry (Michelle) Dorval, Watford City, Loretta (Kevin) Wanner, Belfield, Bernice (Charles) Huschka, Belfield, Neil (Jan Berger) Dorval, Hazen, and Robert Dorval, Belfield; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; his mother-in-law, June Haugrud, Lake Park, Minn.; and his sister-in-law, Pam (John) Midthune, Moorhead, Minn.. He was preceded in death by his sister, Arvilla Huisinger; his father-in-law, Harvey Haugrud; and a nephew, Tarin Dorval.
