LeAnn D. Corbin, Mandan, died Saturday, February 17, 2024 at her home with family at her side. Per LeAnn’s wishes a private family service will be held.

LeAnn Rachael, daughter of Olive (Lovaas) and Clifford Daleness, Ryder, North Dakota was born August 23, 1940 at the McCutcheon Maternity Home in Garrison, North Dakota. Clifford finished the year’s harvesting the day LeAnn was born. During those years farms were not as large so harvest went much quicker. LeAnn attended grade school at the Blue Hill Country School, four miles from their farm. LeAnn graduated from Minot High School, Minot, North Dakota in 1958. After graduating, LeAnn attended the School of Forestry at Bottineau, North Dakota for one year.

Over the years LeAnn, was involved in many activities, from raising children, being a telephone operator during the ring down period of the telephone company, bookkeeper for the Garrison Nursing Home, working for a construction company at Coal Creek, Underwood, North Dakota; coordinator for four construction companies in three states; and bookkeeper for an earthmoving company. Finally moving back close the farm, LeAnn raised hogs for a few years. In 1990, attended Dickinson State University graduating Magna Cum Laude with a four year Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  Following graduation LeAnn moved to Arizona for fifteen years and managed two community service projects for school-children without health insurance.

LeAnn retired and moved to Mandan, North Dakota in 2009. She loved the state of North Dakota and she considered it home. She was a farmer’s daughter at heart and loved to raise beautiful flowers and an abundant garden. Her beloved pets (the late Frankie) and Percy played important roles in her life.

LeAnn is survived by her children, Dawn Rensch, Robert (Lynette), Mark (Jess), Terri (Glen) Houghton and Scott (Lisa); grandchildren, Ashley Houghton, Jacob Lightle, Taylor (Rob) Corbin, Grady (Abby) Houghton, Karly Capraro, Zach Corbin, Kasey (Wyatt) Staal, Elli Corbin, Chloe Corbin, Olivia Corbin, Hunter Corbin, Kayla Corbin and Alison Corbin; great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Evangeline and Jack Lightle, Harper, Lydia, Stella, Noa and Grey Houghton, Corbin and Quincy Capraro, and baby boy Staal.

She was preceded in death by her infant brother, Gary Gene (1944); parents (Olive 2004) and Clifford (2005); beloved grandsons, Garrett Houghton and Joshua Lightle (2021); grandparents, Sina and Ole Daleness, Augusta and Harry Solenberger, and Levi Lovaas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to The Garrett Houghton GOOD Foundation.
