Leila Olsson, 60, Dickinson, died Friday, April 12, 2013 at the St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. Leila’s funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 18, 2013 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson with Reverend Lisa Lewton officiating, interment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be Wednesday, from noon until 5 p.m. and will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. A prayer service will be at 5 p.m., Wednesday at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Leila Specht was born August 30, 1952 at Hazen to Arnold and Elsie (Tschaeofske) Specht. Leila was raised in Manning and graduated from Killdeer High School. After graduation she moved to Dickinson where she met the love of her life, Robert Olsson; they were married in 1974. Leila worked at various jobs in Dickinson, to include, TMI, Binek Coal Mine, and her favorite, playground supervisor at Berg Elementary. After Robert’s death in 1988 she met Eugene While. Together traveled about in their motor home and wintered in Texas. After Eugene’s death, Leila moved back to Dickinson where she worked for DSU, McDonald’s, and finally Fisher Industries.

In her spare time Leila enjoyed playing cards, dancing, darts, fishing, and especially spending time with her friends and family.

Leila is survived by one son, Chad and his wife Heather and their children, Kevin and Harmoni, Dickinson; one brother, Dale and his wife Charlotte Specht and their daughter Dawn, Great Falls, Mont. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents, and her life partner, Eugene While.
