Lena Heiser, 90, Dickinson, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Lena’s funeral service will be on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Deacon Al Schwindt presiding. Interment will take place later at the St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Lena was born October 9, 1920, on the family farm 13 miles NW of Dickinson. She was the daughter of Steven and Frances (Trenkenschuh) Heiser. She was raised on the family farm where she helped with what she could. When her brother and sister-in-law, Andy and Pauline moved into Dickinson, she moved in with them. She lived with them until becoming a resident of St. Benedict’s Health Center 18 years ago.
Lena was like a 2nd mother to her many nieces and nephews. She loved children, and enjoyed puzzles and coloring.
Lena is survived be one sister-in-law, Katie Heiser, Dickinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Pete, Matt, George Tony, John, Steve, and Andy; and three sisters, Anna, Maggie and Theresa.
