Leo Stoltz, 81, Dickinson, died Monday, May 13, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Hospital & Health Center, Dickinson. Leo’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Keith Streifel as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Friday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, with a rosary led by Donald Muth & vigil at 7 p.m., with Deacon Dallas Carlson presiding. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Leo Stoltz was born July 2, 1931 in Stark County at the family home in rural Dickinson. He was the son of George and Perpetua (Klein) Stoltz. Leo lived on the family farm his entire life.

On December 29, 1953, he married Mary Louise Froehlich at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Belfield. He worked as a farmer and rancher in rural Dickinson. He enjoyed attending auction sales and working with wood especially making toys/memorabilia for the grandchildren such as cedar chests, wood models, baby cradles, toy chests, chest of drawers, and cabinets.

Leo is survived by his wife, Mary Louise; eight daughters: Mary Ann (Darrell) Sadowsky, Jeannie Weismann, Sharon (Don) Hibl, Alvara (Neil) Stroh, Anita Stoltz, Karla (Sheldon) Adams, Jackie (Dale) Steinmetz, and Laverne Stoltz; six sons: Edward, James (Adele), Patrick, Jeffry, Curt (Amy), and Vernon Stoltz; 23 grandchildren: Justin Sadowsky, Dustin (Courtney) Sadowsky, Travis (Lacy) Sadowsky, Alexia (Brandon) Eslinger, Bobbie (significant other-Casey Doll) Sadowsky, Kim (husband-Tony Freed) Weismann, DJ Weismann, Kendall (Adrian) Hibl, Jeremy Hibl, KayLeen Stroh, Jessie (significant other-Mariah Walker) Stroh, Tyler, Shawn, and Derek Stoltz, Brittany (LaLo) Dobbins, Nichole (David) Soderberg, Justin and Natasha Adams, Deon and Megan Steinmetz, Joy, Curtis, and Josie Stoltz; 12 great-grandchildren: Dawson Sadowsky, Cade and Harper Sadowsky, Jasper and Rune Eslinger, Addison Hibl, Myra and Kenyatta Stroh, Madison Stroh, Jake, Jaden, and Adrianne Dobbins; sisters: Mariann Anderson and Emelia Armbrust. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Theresa; brothers: George, Florian (Josephine), and Pete (Lorraine) Stoltz; an infant brother, Joseph; and son-in-law, Don Weismann.
