Leonard A. Hibl, 73, New Hradec, ND died Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital & Health Center, Dickinson. Leonard’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2007 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Shannon Lucht as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, New Hradec. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m..

Leonard A. Hibl was born November 2, 1933 the son of Vincent and Agnes (Kostelecky) Hibl on the farm homesteaded by his mothers parents in Dunn County. He attended Parochial school at New Hradec. He entered the United States Army in 1956 and due to a hardship he was discharged in 1957.

Leonard married Daphne Kalanek on June 27, 1960 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson. They owned and operated a dairy and grain farm in the New Hradec area. Leonard belonged to the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Workman Club. He loved his family, farming, gardening, fishing and working in his shop.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Daphne; their two sons, Leonard H. (Denelle) Hibl and Loran L. (Alida) Hibl, Dickinson; four grandchildren, Garrett Hibl, Austin Hibl, Kelsey Hibl and Kara Hibl; two brothers, Albert (Margaret) Hibl and Vincent (Georgie) Hibl, Dickinson; one sister, Hattie Ficek, West Fargo; one sister-in-law, LaVarre Hibl, Moab, UT; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother, one infant sister, one brother, Laudie D. Hibl, and one brother-in-law, Vincent Ficek.
