Leonard “Lenny” D. Koppinger, 51, Dickinson, died Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Sanford Health, Bismarck from a brain aneurism. Leonard’s funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2014 at St. John Evan. Lutheran Church, Dickinson, with Rev. Lisa Lewton officiating. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery, Lefor. Visitation will be on Thursday from 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Friday.

Leonard Dean Koppinger was born October 8, 1962 in Dickinson, the son of Louis and Donnella (Roll) Koppinger. He was raised on the family farm near Lefor, and graduated from Dickinson High School in 1981. Following high school he did welding jobs at Lindbo, Duke’s Welding, Diamond Truck, and DTE. His last job was with Wyoming Casing.

Lenny was a man of many skills. He had an artistic talent with wood, dirt, cement, metal, and trees. If you wanted something fixed, built or done to perfection, you would call Lenny, but not when the Broncos were playing. He also enjoyed traveling.

Lenny is survived by his one son, Matt (special friend, Lisa Wegner); his granddaughter, Jersey; mother, Donnella Koppinger; sister, Renae (Roger) Jahner; two brothers, Terence (Tootie) Koppinger, and Darrell Koppinger; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis; grandparents, Nick and Catherine Roll, and Mathias and Sophie Koppinger; nephew, Louis Jahner; and niece, Shanna Rae Jahner.
